Pacific Rim: Uprising (2018) is a science fiction action film and the sequel to Pacific Rim (2013). Set ten years after the events of the first movie, the story follows Jake Pentecost (John Boyega), the son of the legendary Jaeger pilot Stacker Pentecost. Jake has turned away from his father’s legacy but is thrust back into the world of Jaegers, giant robots that defend Earth from monstrous Kaiju. He joins forces with Amara Namani (Cailee Spaeny), a young mechanic with a passion for Jaegers, as they are recruited into a new generation of pilots to protect the world from an emerging Kaiju threat. Together, they must fight to stop a new, even more dangerous enemy.

As they uncover a conspiracy involving the creation of a new breed of Kaiju and a powerful artificial intelligence, Jake and his team are forced to confront their own fears and pasts.
