Black Adam (2022) follows the story of Teth-Adam, an ancient Egyptian slave who is bestowed with god-like powers by the wizard Shazam. However, instead of using his newfound abilities for good, he seeks vengeance, leading to his imprisonment for 5,000 years. In the modern world, Adam is freed and wreaks havoc in the city of Kahndaq, challenging traditional notions of heroism. His presence attracts the attention of the Justice Society of America (JSA), led by Hawkman, Dr. Fate, Atom Smasher, and Cyclone, who attempt to stop him from causing more destruction.
As the battle between Black Adam and the JSA intensifies, Adam grapples with his own sense of justice and what it means to be a hero. Ultimately, he learns that the line between hero and villain is often blurred. The film explores themes of power, vengeance, and responsibility, showcasing Black Adam’s journey from anti-hero to a force that might change the balance of the DC Universe forever.
